For whatever reason I originally had Weedle above Caterpie, but as I was doing the writeup I realized Caterpie was superior and swapped them both and started writing up Weedle. RSE, check. But thats a very small like. Still a cool legendary, but not so much as some of the really top-deserving legendaries. I do wonder what is up with the giant target on its chest though. Its not particularly great, but its a reasonable Pokemon. Another pokemon that makes me just say "What in all hell is that". What is he? Rhydon used to be the staple ground/rock of RBY when I first came around to the internet. Luckily they corrected this by giving him an evolution, but Onix was just disgustingly terrible. I know if I were an idiot and started with like Turtwig or something, I'd have gotten bored of him and asked a nice Japanese dude to send me a Piplup for a Bidoof or something. No way. Its just, an awesome type, they do cool things, generally look all cool and icy, and its just very unique. Mewtwo was essentially a man-made god-clone thingy. Definitely looks like an upgrade over Misdreavus, and appropriately so. Weird bug is all I think of when I see him. Its not the most interesting final evolution, and as before I prefer Venusaur's giant flower thingy to Torterra's giant tree. In fact, I chose Charmander in RB(And remakes/spinoffs/whatever) far less than I chose Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Also of note with Aerodactyl, he had a really huge event(Single episode) where an old "extinct" Pokemon awakens and it seemed kind of like a big weird thing(With Ash clinging onto it and all), and I thought it was cool that they re-referenced it in a later episodes. Not usable in serious battle of course, but still one of the more respectable bugs. Seriously, the first time I faced a Breloom in competitive RSE, the damn thing blew my ****ing mind. Hell, can they even make an evolution with a name like Farfetch'd? T-Tar in this spot still doesnt make sense. And aside from Chris, who doesnt count for Absol, -everyone- likes Absol. If it werent for Brawl, his ranking would be down a bit. I am the master and can easily figure it out the results are always correct. Also a bit of a cooler look overall, and the males are definitely the superior line combat-wise. Both of these guys made RSE quite entertaining to say the least, so a Pokemon belonging to them automatically gets some points. Why do these terribly uncool Pokemon have split evolutions, I dont know. At what stage do you think you are in your life? But what did they do? I kind of underappreciated Combusken for awhile, but while its not one of my favorite Pokemon, it isnt a bad Pokemon by any means. A bit more visually appealing than the Paras line, thats for sure though. This line. Take your favorite fandoms with you and never miss a beat. Starters were one of the better things in RSE, I guess, and Mudkip was cool. Poison/Fighting is a strange combination, particularly when you consider what a psychic does to this guy. Hell, google image search Absol, and what do you find? Continuing the trend of moving in order of the Pokedex, Torkoal is a fire-turtle thing that constantly is blowing smoke everywhere. We were wrong. Its fitting. Its a neat little fact you guys probably hate me for, haha. I was impressed at the change when all the team -insert faction- members in RSE started pulling out Mightyena instead of Poochyena. Did anyone not level up a Dratini to have an awesome Hyper Beaming Dragonite at one point or another in RBY? Jigglypuff in SSB seems totally random to most people for whatever reason, and I see this broguht up a lot for whatever reason. Poliwrath just looks a little screwed up, while Poliwhirl has those awesome looking hands and stuff. Treecko pretty much made the Hoenn seasons pretty awesome, Grovyle not so much. As I implied, if Breloom were featured anywhere just a bit more, he'd probably climb this list quite a bit. Oddly he loses a bit of the fiery look, seeming more along the lines of a fighting chicken than a small fire breathing chick. The first time I heard Roserade pronounced in the anime, I was kind of shocked. Its an interesting, and sometimes a bit scary thought. People had already decided Thunder Wave/Confuse Ray/Surf/Recover were going to be broken and ruin the metagame, and aptly named it the deathstar. She was the Prostitute. Honchkrow probably isnt usable, if I had to bet, but I appreciate them remembering some forgotten Pokemon, especially when they give them a cool hat. A Pokemon I used to use on a bunch of underused RBY teams. Now, I must admit, from 20 to 17, I had no idea where the Pokemon were supposed to go. Yeah hes still cool, and he of course eventually turns into Charizard, a Pokemon that has had more of its share of epic moments just about everywhere, but Charmander still isnt my favorite fire starter, definitely not. We always knew that inevitably early on we'd have the choice of 2 fossil Pokemon, and then the other would become unobtainable without trading. Hes some sort of ant thingy that lives in the sand, it doesnt make much sense. Its a bad trend, I guess(Someone is going to kill me one of these days for these opinions, I know). Everyone knows the bug Pokemon we grab at the beginning of the game will evolve in 10 minutes, get entered into our pokedex, and then gradually become more and more useless. Unlike its evolution, it walks on a christmas tree stand, and it has eyes. And I wouldnt be able to guess its part psychic either, it looks pure steel if I had to take a guess at it. Unlike its evolution, there isnt too much porn of Buneary. Well, I'll tell you how you go wrong. Not quite able to get on my top 10, but its definitely one of my favorites, and has tons of established memories. Still, hes not as cool or epic looking as Dragonite, though seeing a Salemence still brings up "oh **** Salamence epic crap" that we can associate with some of the stronger Pokemon out there. I have been annoyed by him far too many times. Oh, and he got a pre-evo to make it even more useless. Overall a really good pick for PvP, being … The Jumpluff line is for you. Voltorb have one job, explode while staring at you with slanted eyes. Did anyone not have Koffing's voice stuck in their head after some early Pokemon episodes. It gets up a bit because Clefable was a cool underused Pokemon in RBY to use. I dont really have much to say, but I cant stand it. But if your wondering how it got this high, I indeed saw porn of it, and it was oddly well-done. I dont know what it is. This is the female it seems, blah blah blah blah blah. Damn if that didnt ruin my plans. Its one of those "If they'd just do more with it I'd really love this Pokemon" type of things. And then somewhere in there is some other random weather effect. It is far and away the coolest of the legendary birds, and hell, its pretty damn flawless, it just looks awesome, carries itself like a legendary, and its the first legendary just about everyone encountered. You didnt even want to use a Geodude. You have ground and fire, both weak to what is arguably been the most common special type(water, yes I know this means less now), and the most common physical type(excluding normal, with RSE I remember noticing one thing, earthquake(ground) is learned by EVERYTHING). So I guess everything about Pidgey just grows considerably. We should be breeding Mewtwo and getting Mew, not breeding crappy legendaries and getting even crappier legendaries. Snorlax is a pretty well-known and liked Pokemon, but damn if he didnt help to stale a generation out. It wouldnt be so bad, but its one of those forgotten Pokemon that is ultimately pretty useless, but never gets any sort of an evolution despite clearly having room to evolve. Speaking of anime contest-rival Pokemon, we got another one. Lickitung also had a short stint with Team Rocket in the anime too, to add to his coolness. And of course, Venusaur was on my team, a final evolution RBY starter, who already reached pretty epic status for that fact alone. I guess I understand it somewhat, but I dont see much of the dark type thingy in it. The type change helped, I suppose. Yeah, people always mention Plusle and Minun. Sure it could be a pain to capture, but the reward was a game where you didnt have to worry about doing anything. I'm really not a fan of evolutions where the Pokemon gains nothing but getting slightly bigger. And the females are still pretty damn ugly. Same story as Magby here. My RBY underused grass type of choice. Aside from a few of them which are still cool, a good majority of them, many of which most of us will never attain, kind of lose their iconic status. Thats the only way to describe it. Volbeat is the male, but damned if I remember that off the top of my head. It just didnt have a middle evolution feel to it, it could have been a pair of 2 Pokemon and we wouldnt have been able to tell the difference, yet it still evolved into a unique and fitting Pokemon. While Magmar and Electabuzz seem to be eternally linked, Electabuzz didnt evolve into something that totally ruined him like Magmar did with DP. It was all you could ask of a water type, able to take hits and mitigate the damage with the recover. Yes, I'm starting off the list with one of the most overused Pokemon. One of the common things you'll find with much of my list is that many pre-evos actually fall higher on the list than there evolutions. Still, one of the highest middle evolutions on the list. Hes an oddly colored flying bug, and they finally remembered he was a small bug in need of an evolution, which is cool. Wailord itself as its name implies, is a giant whale. This is a full list of every Pokémon from all 8 generations of the Pokémon series, along with their main stats.. Repeat that 3 times. This is simply one of the better starter lines period, and Empoleon is an appropriate looking finish to the end of the line. Its just a weird RSE Pokemon, definitely one of my least favorites out there. Thing is, there was a non-psychic Pokemon in RBY with an even better gimmick than Drowzee, so he goes down quite a bit. They deserved massive amounts of respect, because, well, they were Dragons. Yeah you guys are either going to love me or absolutely hate me for some of the Pokemon coming in the 400s. Expect to find some graveler. Well its a Venomoth pre-evo, one of the worst lines ever. The only issue here is that they dont really differ quite enough, but that doesnt make Typhlosion not be awesome. Love the overall look to this name, very sleek and everything. Furret fixes this, thinning out, getting longer, and having much sleeker looking limbs. Wigglytuff is the evolution of one of the more memorable Pokemon out there, and while dropping the round look just a bit, is still rather unique looking. Aerodactyl is a cool flying Rock, who can argue with a Flying Rock? It appears in the anime, says "Chansey" and heals things. Terrible RSE line alert. My Melee Pokemon, seriously. The Pokémon TCG takes a trip to the Galar region in the Sword & Shield expansion! No not really, but a classic blunder here, I'm sure we've all seen it. The thing was just plain broken. Its also got a neat color scheme, though its not a Pokemon I'd consider bringing out to battle, its got a reasonable evolution and gets massive uniqueness points. Bidoof has a dumb name, looks dumb, and has no use other than evolving into an HM whore, but he has his victory. Quilava kind of reminds me of a fiery furret, for some reason. Cave? Buizel was nice and cool looking, everything in good proportions, awesome orange color scheme, awesome looking face markings, a cool looking pair of tails, and of course it wouldnt be complete without a better sounding name. Not a good enough movepool, unfortunately. One of a pair of legendaries thats going to be making an apperance on this list(Yeah, 43 is a legendary too), Suicune is a cool blue legendary that saves things. Weaken it down, and throw a Pokeball. Always angry, never with a nice face. Its use kind of fell off over the last 3 or so years, and you probably wont see very many no matter how many RBY matches you play. I stuck Thunder on him, specifically because Skarmory was pissing me off to hell. Giant enemy crab? They are just so, fitting for a Pokemon, I cant really put my finger on it. Hes big and fat and has weird limbs to go with it. Salamence is still one of the more memorable Pokemon out there, even if it is for his competitive dominance. Legendaries should be Pokemon we struggle for an hour or so to sleep/paralyze/freeze and then get them down to 1 HP just for the chance that they might not break the ball. either that, or people traded for piplup really early. The line is still good, and Swampert isnt a bad Pokemon, but something about his face and general look just says "middle evolution". Totodile never appealed greatly to me, and his evolutions irritated me a bit, so that left Cyndaquil, the excessively cute and happy looking fire type, and my favorite GSC starter. Wouldnt have a chance in standard play, but I used the hell out of him in underused. Cacturne however, was property of Harley, one of the RSE contest rivals who were, to put it correctly, pretty awesome. Now, if I was attached to my GSC team, can you imagine how much I am attached to my RBY Pokemon? Its gets about as high as a generic bug can get without being original and likeable, I suppose. Poor Poliwrath, its such a terrible Pokemon. Eventually evolving into Flygon can only carry you so far, especially considering Trapinch looks nothing like him. It made no sense, but a few fixings had us maxing out his attack in one swords dance. As I've said earlier, I'm really glad that with DP they gave some attention to some Pokemon that they had left to be forgotten, it was one of the better things they did most of the time. He had a card that looked awesome, had people drooling over it, and then he was the first anime badass. Dont have much to say, this Pokemon just irritates me. Croconaw just kind of strikes me as the odd one out, and its got to be part of the least favorite of the GSC lines for me. Wouldnt catch me using one, thats for sure. Learn everything about the games, … Also Pidgeot had the shortest anime stint ever. And yeah, Teddiursa become Ursaring, but I cant bring myself to care after seeing the Teddiursa episode. I like it better than its evolution, definitely. Buizel is by far one of the coolest Pokemon to come out of DP, knew Buizel was going to be one of my favorites the moment I saw it. Better than many of the generic birds out there. Yeah, heres another one of those conflicting type things. It pretty much meant if there was a Dragonite, chances are it was kicking ass. Everything else about it just makes me question its existence. Another Pokemon totally ranked up this high due to anime awesomeness, hell, dont think I've ever seen a Mime Jr anywhere outside the anime, for that matter. I really wish this line were more useful, they are a couple cool looking electric types. I was totally "wtf'd" the first time I went looking for the Pokemon that evolves into Flygon. It was very much appreciated, though I never used one myself. Then run to the north, enter the Old Chateau, and go upstairs. Too bad in Brawl this novelty is gone and rest is terrible. I see it, epic battle, its lvl round #(Forgive me for forgetting), and I can catch it. Its like some weird spider-like rock that has fire. the damn things, were everywhere. Bulbasaur also had the chance to evolve and didnt take it, in some crazy anime game-breaking plotline. And its EVERYWHERE. They were quite hilarious, and reflect positively on Sunflora as a result. I have no idea what the logic is behind that. When I am annoyed, I am annoyed. Definite win right? Hes a monkey-thing with a big head. Its pretty disappointing. It has dots for eyes and a line for a mouth. This of course was caused by the legendaries in GSC being a pair of birds, rather than a single overpowered Pokemon. Poliwrath just looks like hes eaten too many donuts or something, Poliwhirl looks cool, the coolest of his line for sure. As standalone Pokemon, ignoring that they all look pretty much the same, I like the general look to them too. As I said, Manectric would have been way higher on the list if it werent for DP, but theres another electric type that kind of replaced them on my list, so it dropped a bit. Is it some sort of defect cherubi? And then of course, all of Buizel's anime awesomeness got topped off in the most recently aired gym battle, in one of the more epic battles ever against Maylene's Lucario. Its one of the more universally liked Pokemon out there, and one of my favorites too obviously. Also its been awhile, but we're down to 100 to go. Jirachi starred in what is without a doubt the worst Pokemon movie. Seel isnt a great Pokemon by any means, but to completely ripoff the name, its irritating and inexcusable. Sandslash is also one of the more proper evolutions out there, taking a Sandshrew and adding just the right amount of necessary changes to be a much stronger looking Pokemon. Primeape itself is a much improved Mankey, on looks and everything else. Theres several episodes related to Diglett, hes in like every movie at some point, and Diglett just make cameos everywhere. I actually picked up a Wooper and used him for a bit when I first got Silver, but I never became particularly attached to the thing. Seriously, "vigoroth" is just a terrible sounding name. Also like Mightyena, the internet, for good reason, also has quite the fascination with Zangoose, there is tons, and I mean tons of pr0n of them. I simply dont want a Riolu, I want a Lucario. It was Kingler, it didnt need a reason, it won just because it was there. Poor Manectric, you were such a cool Pokemon in RSE, but they just didnt give you anything. 2 syllables, crazy. It also helps that Treecko is one of the more awesome looking starters ever. Bad resistances, lots of weaknesses, and not a great offensive type overall. Classic moment. Dialga has a cooler blueish look to him, definitely. But damn if you didnt laugh at it, and damn if you didnt catch one and level it up into a quick and easy butterfree. This aggressive appearance of course was further enforced with its natural traits, which are either rivalry or intimidate, both extremely fitting for the Pokemon. Also and this is a fact, for years I had no idea that Octillery evolved from Remoraid. Havent finished it yet of course, but I expect plenty of Wigglytuff awesomeness to come. They've not even attempted to dethrone Mewtwo from his position until the current generation, with an even more stat-breaking god of a legendary. Of course, its all topped out with one of the more awesome Pokemon names out there. Its also a little werd, its got giant teeth and really little eyes. Continuing with the DP starter hate, I really dont like them much. Luckily, they remembered their mistake come GSC and gave us Bellossom. Garchomp does what he looks like he does, he hits hard and eats things. This move combination has the highest total DPS and is also the best moveset for PVP battles. Blissey was the main cause of the problems, so Skarmory is slightly forgiven. Which one are you take this quiz to find out.Basic questions some scenarios that take place in every day life it's not complicated unless you are stupid! Slash slash slash. Somebody make some sense out of this, because I still cannot. They are hilarious, to say the least. Pineco just looks a bit cooler. Rating helps us to know which quizzes are good and which are bad. Seriously, do you think these Pokemon would willingly sex up a little purple jello thing with eyes? It had the most prominent voice of all the Regi's and had a cool look about its business. Not that it had any real competition, but when your a Nintendo character paired with Link and you are also one of the dumbest looking Pokemon ever, its a real accomplishment. Could have lasted a little longer, but it was good overall. Its weird, to say the least. Scyther was given probably the crappiest types and moves they possibly could give a thing with big scythes for arms. Its got a terrible type, terrible stats, and wtf is it? Granted so does Charizard, but he had to evolve and still didnt get as many appearances as Bulbasaur. And winner of most unoriginal name in Pokemon, well, close. Seriously? Elekid looks a bit cooler than Magby, so it gets to go ahead. Ninjask is umm, fast. Still, Mawile is one of my favorite Pokemon on looks alone. Outside of the Piplup line, I didnt care a whole lot for them. Manaphy is pretty much the highlight of these. I must confess, my first run through Sapphire I chose a Mudkip, and then I caught like 20 Pokemon and didnt level any of them. Its eyes also seem to be perpetually closed. They were the most powerful looking things out there, but you just kind of got the feeling that they were really important. Fearow isnt exactly going to put much fear into anything. Yeah, pretty pathetic for a god. Thats his only role in anything it seems. Not my favorite type out there of course, but one that was dealt with very well in the original generation. Good idea for a gimmick Pokemon, but weather just isnt varied enough to have any use. But they ruined his voice. Lugia was just the much more appealing of the two, and one of the better legendaries Pokemon has to offer. Then you get him in competitive play, he busts out the razor leafs, they crit everytime, they ignore stat upgrades, and they kick ass. Persian was a cat, with sharp claws and a face that made it look like it was going to slash your face up. Yeah, I had to put one of them in front of the other, I ultimately went with Dragonite just because hes evolved, but on any day I might switch it up. It was a total rumor I'd heard, and to this day I have no idea if it does anything, but damned if I dont hold B and down to this day whenever I try to catch a legendary. Its pretty funny how often they pop up. Thats an idea! It takes any special attack and laughs, it brings heal bell, and goddamn it has more HP. Gloom was cool and they screwed it up. Its kind of like if there was a single generation of Pokemon with 151 in it, I'd want the next 151 to be a part of it, thats kind of cool when I think about it. Thats what Persian does. It was just totally out of control, could come out of its ball at will, and be absolutely useless, usually totalling ruining a situation. Seadra had this awesome look to it, and then Kingdra just looks like an evolution between Horsea and Seadra, it doesnt look evolved. he does it properly. Because I approve of every Pokemon from this point on. Also for whatever reason, Sneasel sneak into a lot of pr0n. While a bigger shield, its still the far inferior DP fossil Pokemon, so that holds it back. Phione is one of these Pokemon. Despite having a neat sounding name, Cherubi is one of the more plain pokemon in existence. A single-line Pokemon that is destined to get an evolution come generation 5, Pachirisu has some of the worst stats for a final evo in the game, and is another electric pokemon with colored cheeks, this time a white-blueish Squirrel. There were just so many good water types from RBY that Blastoise just isnt really necessary. Its taking me a bit longer for writeups now for some pretty simple reasons. 0 1 REPORT | REPLY. Oh, and I've survived a day after ranking Gardevoir low, I'm surprised. There is no Pokemon I enjoy seeing die in battle than Blissey. Oh hey look at that name, I wonder what gimmick that pokemon has. Quite sad that such cool Pokemon cant be used, but it doesnt stop them from being some of my favorites. Everyone fears a single, evil Pokemon, and that just happens to be Teddiursa. That was a huge bonus. He could take hits from anything and his HP would still be well off. Luxray kind of took Absol's spot in my mind for DP, a Pokemon I loved to use in-game, thought looked extremely cool, and set a lot of early generation memories. To this day I can still watch it and still consider it to be really awesome. One of the early appearing Pokemon of their generation, I believe(Maybe that was Weavile?). I guess "Relicanth" is a pretty decent name to look at. The red thingy on top of his head looks cool, too, totally surprised by this bird. Its only up this high because of the hilarious anime episode involving this thing. Also for whatever reason, I'm not going to take a guess as to why here, people like putting dark types in pr0n. Oddly enough its evolution got "growth" thrown into its name, which was an equally bad name to go with the bad Pokemon. I think its a scorpion guys. I mean, people died. Even to the end it didnt lose, and everyone was happy that the abused Sandshrew got victory #100. leaving one spot opened. When I got through the first gym in DP, I'd seen Cranidos. Its a big giant shell with a face inside. I cant even remotely not-hate this Pokemon. A single move guaranteed to drop a Pokemon to 50% HP and then critical hyper beams. With a new type of course, since they made Rock/Ground complete crap from GSC on. Not much practical use, to say the least. Longer arms, though. Nothing to really dislike about Magnemite. Now, a lot of Pokemon got raised a bit for sex appeal, but a lot of them arent foxes, so Vulpix gets pulled up quite a bit further obviously. I love the blue and yellow color scheme too, very awesome. Not a fan of those giant ears, but its unhateable none-the-less. But it was one of the original generic bird evolutions. Magikarp will always be extremely classy, Feebas will just be the dumb thing that evolves into Milotic. Arcanine is a really cool Pokemon that kind of suffers from underexposure. Its a nose with a mustache. Drifloon floats, looks ugly, isnt involved in any sort of parties, and even if it were, balloons arent something I want to take and throw out into battle. Slakoth is, well, stupid looking. This wasnt the end of my first Articuno's story of course, sure we beat the game, froze and captured Mewtwo togehter, but we had more. Goddamn. It was awesome, and stuff. A unique Pokemon with an awesome name. The damned thing, no matter how much things explode and die, and get sent to hell around it, is never evil. What else could I possibly follow Tyrogue with but his equally lame and new evolution, Hitmontop. We all knew the rock gym was coming, then a water gym. A huge difference between the two. Of course, you cant talk about Zangoose without mentioning the epic Seviper rivalry. DP T-tar, essentially. Wouldnt see me ever using one of these guys, but they are cool Pokemon regardless. Middle Pokemon to what is by far my favorite 3-pokemon evolution line in DP. Not the coolest evolution out there, by any means. Pulls off the brown/light brown color scheme much better. Why do these things always seem to be attached to a big pile of sand? I doubt we'll ever be able to get ahold of one anyways. Yeah you guys dont like these guys being this low do you? Its a step above many generic birds, but still is the original generic bird. Sandslash is just one of the more naturally badass Pokemon out there, hes got cool looking claws, and an equally cool spiky looking back. Raichu was also one of my favorite underused Pokemon to throw out there in RBY, Surf giving it a bit of a leg up over most electric types. Unfortunately, my RBY game has died, and with it my Articuno, but we had memories, lots of memories. Its just a pokemon with pretty low standards. This is usually to the final Pokemon of the line being particularly lame. Koffing was well, a poison type in RBY. It wasnt the best Pokemon due to a terrible movepool, but Articuno was more than capable if put in the right situation, and I was absolutely sure it would serve me well, and of course it did I won the match. As for Roselia, its quite an odd Pokemon. Hell, he may as well be called Porygon3, thats essentially what he is. I'm sure a good 60% of people chose Piplup too, so I'm sure many ended up with Empoleon. Whatsoever. Rather then adding fun, they just kind of one-hit killed you and were impossible to avoid. Good idea used horribly horribly wrong. One of these days I'm going to host a game of mafia and be able to balance a cult leader into the mix.
