Our
mission
To increase the representation of minorities and individuals from low income families towards the development of and participation in engineering and technology based businesses and careers.
Black Americans are twice as likely to be adversely impacted by the disruption of automation technologies such as artificial intelligence, autonomous devices, and the Internet of Things as counterparts of other races and cultures. Over 50% of all service based jobs are occupied by African Americans, though they only comprise 13% of the population in the United States. This disparity presents a mounting concern in an already wide gap in income, wealth, and economic opportunity.
Be Great Foundation Inc. was created to address such economic and opportunity disparities by advocating for STEM education, entrepreneurship and equity for underrepresented populations. Inspired by Nipsey Hussle, the purpose of the Victory Lap 5K is to raise funding to support students and entrepreneurs in our local community towards the progression and development of STEM careers in an effort to prepare individuals from underrepresented populations to secure the jobs of the future.
Our
Objectives
All proceeds of the victory Lap 5K will go towards the benefit of local middle-school, high-school, and college students pursuing STEM majors and careers. Proceeds will also serve to provide grant funding to local entrepreneurs endeavoring to found technology based ventures. Nipsey Hussle was passionate about making a difference in his own backyard. Through this event we hope to make a tangible impact to our community by supporting the dreams of local students and entrepreneurs.

Participants may begin arriving to pick up their race-packets, bibs, and commemorative Victory Lap 5K T-Shirt.

race start
Competition drives us to be better. To show up. To give our best, and to give our all. The main group is for competitive runners who desire to be timed. .

Cross the finish line. Hold your head high! Take your Victory Lap. Touch the sky. Every participant will receive a medal and a swag back once you cross the finish line.

On your mark, get, set, go. It's a race to the finish, but the only competition is yourself. Whether you sprint, jog, or walk across the finish line, you will be declared a winner.
